Super Simple Sesame Noodles

My kids love spaghetti and meatballs, so we eat it all the time.  And by all the time I mean my kids want it every day, for lunch, and for dinner.  I do not love spaghetti and meatballs, I don’t have anything against the dish but after having my kids dance around the house chanting that they want meatballs every night I have eaten the noodles and red sauce too often.  But because my kids love it (and eat it without complaining) I keep making it.    A while back I ran into a super simple sesame noodle recipe by the Pioneer Woman, and I love it.  I can make spaghetti and meat balls for the kids and
I can eat something a little different without a lot of hassle.

This simple sesame noodle recipe is basic enough that it is easy to incorporate into your food storage menu.  I buy my soy sauce and garlic powder at Sam’s club, and the sesame oil and hot chili oil at Wal-Mart.  Haven’t tried Siracha?  Go get yourself some.  It is amazing .  But be warned it is super spicy, start with just a few drops, a little goes a long way.

Super Simple Sesame Noodles
12 ounces, fluid Thin Noodles, Cooked and Drained
¼ cups Soy Sauce
2 Tablespoons Sugar
1 teaspoon garlic powder or 4 cloves Garlic, Minced
2 Tablespoons Rice Vinegar
3 Tablespoons Pure Sesame Oil
½ teaspoons Hot Chili sauce like Sambal Oleek or Siracha (optional, I leave it out when I’m cooking for the kids)
4 Tablespoons Canola Oil
Chopped peanuts, for garnish  (I really love to use the chopped nuts from the ice cream sundae topping section of the grocery store)

Whisk all ingredients (except noodles) together in a bowl. Taste and adjust ingredients as needed.
Pour sauce over warm noodles and toss to coat.
Sprinkle with chopped peanuts.
Serve in a bowl with chopsticks. Yummy!

Thrive Life Chicken Salad

The recipe that I make the most at Thrive Life home parties is Chicken Salad.  It is super easy and so delicious.  If you haven’t tried it you should.

Thrive Life Chicken Salad

2½ c. Freeze Dried Chopped Chicken
½ c. Freeze Dried Chopped Onions
¾ c. Freeze Dried Celery
2 c. water
¾ c. mayonnaise
1 tbsp. Dijon mustard
½ tsp. Iodized Salt
¼ tsp. Peppercorn Seasoning Blend or black pepper
½ tsp. Chef’s Choice Seasoning Blend

Combine the chicken, onions, celery, and water; stir well and place in refrigerator for 10 minutes. In a medium size bowl, mix remaining ingredients until well incorporated. Mix chicken mixture into mayonnaise mixture without draining. Salad may be slightly runny, but will thicken. Refrigerate for 1½ hours and stir before serving.
